A massive new food truck park and entertainment venue is set to open south of Kissimmee, Florida. The Street Feast, located on Poinciana Boulevard, will host up to 40 food trucks and accommodate over 700 guests, bringing a vibrant new dining and entertainment option to Osceola County.
Developer Aamir Waheed’s Vision
Orlando developer Aamir Waheed, through his company Realtrack Inc., acquired the 6-acre commercial site near the intersection of Poinciana Boulevard and Crescent Lakes Way for $2 million in February. Waheed plans to invest up to $8 million in the project, aiming for a grand opening by next year.
Initially considering a strip center with self-storage or a car wash, Waheed pivoted to the food truck park idea. “I’ve seen some food truck places, and I thought, why not build a venue with entertainment where families can gather and enjoy diverse food options?” Waheed said.
Features and Attractions
Street Feast will feature a beer garden, live entertainment, an arcade, a playground, and a splash park. The venue will have enough covered seating for over 700 visitors, ensuring comfort regardless of the weather. “This isn’t just a bunch of food trucks in a parking lot. This is a purpose-built design,” Waheed emphasized.
The park’s design, created by architect Paul Medley of PNM Architecture, includes an oval-shaped layout with parking for 40 food trucks surrounding a central building, stage, and arcade. Each food truck stall will have a permanent canopy for weather protection.
Community and Sustainability Focus
Osceola County planners expressed strong support for the project during a recent pre-application meeting. “This concept has gained a lot of popularity and traction. It offers a huge variety of options, allowing families to enjoy different cuisines in one location,” planner Photenie Burnett commented.
The project will also incorporate sustainable features, with about half of the food truck canopies and the pavilion supporting roughly 5,000 square feet of solar panels to provide sustainable energy. Additionally, the venue will include rental cabanas with plush seating and covered dining for groups of up to 12 guests.
Convenient and Pet-Friendly
Diners will be able to explore the food trucks via a covered promenade or use QR codes to order from multiple vendors. Each food truck space will have utility hookups, eliminating the need for generators. The venue will also be pet-friendly, allowing visitors to bring their pets as long as they clean up after them.
A New Dining Destination for Poinciana
Street Feast aims to meet the growing demand for dining options in the Poinciana area, which currently lacks restaurants despite a high residential density. “There are no restaurants nearby, and there are many homes. This venue will be great for the community and could become a destination location,” Waheed stated.
With the introduction of Street Feast, Osceola County is set to enjoy a dynamic new venue that combines diverse dining options with engaging entertainment, providing a much-needed boost to the local dining scene.
