In a heartwarming display of community collaboration, Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County has partnered with Williams Company to build two energy-efficient homes that will be purchased with affordable mortgages by two deserving local families. This exciting milestone was celebrated with home dedication ceremonies on December 13, 2024, marking the completion of these new homes in Kissimmee and Orange County, Florida. Notably, this also marks Habitat Orlando & Osceola’s first-ever home built in Osceola County.
A Meaningful Partnership Bringing Homes for the Holidays
“We are extremely grateful to Williams Company for their generosity and commitment to build not one ‘Home for the Holidays’ but two in two different communities,” Catherine Steck McManus, President & CEO of Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County said. “Seeing our mission come to life through these two Central Florida families is the perfect way to end the year.”
This is the fifth consecutive year that Williams Company, along with its subcontractors and vendors, has donated the materials, supplies, and time needed to help make homeownership a reality for future homeowners in Central Florida. For the first time, however, the company has completed the construction of two homes in a sped-up timeframe, ensuring that these families can enjoy a fresh start just in time for the holidays.
Building Dreams in Kissimmee and Orange County
The first of the two homes, built in Kissimmee, will be purchased by Gloria and Francisco, who have three young children. This is especially significant as it represents Habitat Orlando & Osceola’s first home in Osceola County, expanding their mission to reach even more families in need of affordable housing. The second home, built in Orange County, will be purchased by Stephanie, a single mother excited to start a new chapter with her son and granddaughter. Both families are thrilled to have a safe, affordable place to call their own—a true haven where they can create lasting memories and build a bright future.
A Strong Partnership Making a Positive Impact
The homes built by Habitat for Humanity and Williams Company are much more than just structures; they represent hope, opportunity, and stability for these two families.
“The homes we built for both families represent more than a roof over their heads; it’s a fresh start and a foundation for their future together. We value our strong partnership with Habitat Orlando & Osceola and the positive impact we both have on our community. This project exemplifies the essence of people coming together to support one another, just in time for the holidays,” Matt Olberding, Vice President of Operations at Williams Company said.
Making Homeownership Possible in Central Florida
The partnership between Habitat for Humanity and Williams Company is a shining example of what can be accomplished when local businesses and organizations come together to support their communities. By donating materials, labor, and time, Williams Company has played a critical role in providing energy-efficient homes to families who may otherwise struggle to afford homeownership.
Through this collaboration, Habitat Orlando & Osceola County continues to help families in need of safe, affordable housing, ensuring that they have the stability and resources needed to thrive. This year’s Home for the Holidays project serves as a testament to the power of community and the difference that dedicated individuals and businesses can make in people’s lives.
